Our First Trip Out as 4!

We are certainly being spoiled by wonderful visitors! My dad just left yesterday after a wonderful weekend! He and Zach had so much fun together- Papere is the perfect playmate for playing trucks. He was teaching Zach all new things and blowing his mind! Who knew it could be so fun to pretend the digger hit a patch of ice and would go sliding across the wood floor?! They would make elaborate breakfasts for everyone in the morning and spend the rest of the day fixing things around the house. Zach learned how to use a plunger in the bath tub-that was pretty exciting! Thanks for everything you did Papere, we love you and are so glad you came to meet your new grandson and spend that wonderful time with us!

Andy's mom is coming tomorrow and we are really looking forward to her visit as well. Once again that leaves us with about 48 hours to try out our skills as parents to these two fun little guys without the safety net of a grandparent to help out. We had a fun morning today with a visit from my friend Clara and her son Eric. After they left I think we must have been feeling very brave because we decided to go out to lunch! That means I had to put on something besides sweat pants for the first time in two weeks. It was actually quite nice! Zach was so excited to be sitting in the back with Caleb. He talked to him the whole way, comforted him when he started to cry and tried to assure him that "we amost dere Taywobe, is OK." So sweet! We decided to go to Chipotle as it is one place we can usually get Zach to actually eat and that is always a bonus. Good choice by the way since he quickly took care of his lunch, moved on to my lunch (I was too busy worrying that Caleb was catching a multitude of diseases to eat), and then finished off a whole bag of those yummy Chipotle chips and guacamole. Then feeling most satisfied he sat back and relaxed

...just like daddy. Despite all of my worrying, Caleb and I had a great time too.
We then headed over to Whole Foods to pick up one quick thing and spent the next 45 minutes in the car feeding Caleb, changing a very messy blow-out diaper, and then feeding him some more. Sweet little Zach was so patient as we did all of that. We just sang songs together and he was as content as could be. It was however at this point that we remembered why it is easier to just stay home. Home is a pretty fun place to be though with all of the fun big brother presents that keeps receiving from our sweet visitors. Check out this cool conductor outfit! Making trains with chairs in the living room has never been so much fun!
