Signs of Fall

Enjoying the day on a fall walk.

We had some cooler weather last week so I got out Zach's little jacket. It looked so cute hanging on the little hook by the door all ready to go that I just couldn't resist taking a picture.

Our little friend Jonathan celebrated his 3rd birthday at My Gym and Zach had his first experience playing in the balls. Trying on the new costume. Making sure we are all set for Halloween. Zach is going to be Aslan the lion.

YUMMY

Well the plan was to wait to start solid food until Zach was 6 months. However, he was just so hungry all the time. He was most content if he was eatting 24 hours a day. He was also waking up many more times to eat at night than he ever had before. Andy and I decided that it was time to try solids and see if that helped the situation. We started with bananas and they were a definite hit. The first day we gave them to him he slept from 7:00pm to 5:00am for a quick feeding and then back to bed until 7:00 am. It was wonderful! We also introduced whole grain rice cereal which wasn't such a hit. He is willing to accept it if it has bananas mixed in though. I guess he has a sweet tooth just like his mom! BEFORE

AFTER

Cleaning up after lunch.

Hmmm...I don't think I like rice cereal as much as those tasty bananas.

The high chair is still a little big, I think we will stick to eatting in the Bumbo seat for now!

Sitting UP!

Wow! We reached a new milestone today. Zach can now sit-up while he supports himself on his hands. Its just so cute to see him sitting there all by himself. In the pictures it looks like he doesnt understand why Andy and I are making such a fuss!
Rolling around is one of his favorite things to do. He got very good at it while we were in Colorado and now travels across the floor in seconds.
We are starting solids on Oct. 9 so I am sure we will have lots of good footage to post from that adventure.

While in Colorado...

We attended one of Malia's Cross-Country meets. She did a great job and it was such a nice afternoon.
Here she comes!

Run Malia Run!

Playing "airplane" with daddy. Definitely one of the favorite games in our house.

Running into the finish line!

Hanging out with Aunt Malia is the best!

Malia and John

View of the mountains right next to Malia's (and my) high school.

Four Generations

As I mentioned before, it was a very special trip to Colorado for Zach as he got to meet his Granddad and his Great-Granddad for the first time. It was so great to have everyone all together. We took the Four-Generation picture which I know will be something that we will always treasure.
A Great visit with Great-Granddad!

Mountain Boy

At the end of August we took Zach to Colorado for a visit with all of his grandparents. Two of the major highlights of the trip were getting to meet his granddad and his great-granddad for the first time! We visited with lots of friends and family and had a great time. It was hard to leave as always. Zach did a great job on the plane thanks to the kid-friendly atmosphere of Southwest airlines (highly recommend it to anyone traveling with kids.) I was relieved he did so well since Zach and I will be flying in November all by ourselves.
Zachary about to take off on his first plane ride ever!
Hanging out with Travis (Andy's college roomate and our good friend.)

On a walk!

Cuddling with Granddad

Granddad helping him to munch on his toes. That's one of his favorite new things to do.

Because what's a baby picture album without the picture of a baby drinking beer right?
